Written over a decade after Blood Canticle (2003), the intended final novel in the series, Prince Lestat (2014) and Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis act as sequels to the first five books in the series, continuing Lestat's storyline. In Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis, Lestat is host to Amel, a powerful spirit first introduced in The Vampire Lestat (1985).
