Illustrated with 15 pages of photographs. First edition, first printing. Signed on front free endpaper by Minnie Miñoso (HOF), Billy Pierce, and Roy Sievers ("R.O.Y. / 49"). Publisher's blue cloth, with spine stamped in white; in its original blue pictorial dust jacket, with a black and white photo of Comiskey Park to front panel, lettered in white. Very good or better book, with some fading to spine ends and light spotting to spine, and some black residue to bottom edge of front board; very good unclipped dust jacket, with some wear to spine ends, nicked corners, and staining to spine ends on verso (not visible on recto). Overall, a great trio of White Sox signatures. Minnie Miñoso (1929-2015) was the first Latino star in the MLB, or, to put it in Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda's words, "Minnie Miñoso is to Latin ballplayers what Jackie Robinson is to black ballplayers." Miñoso spent three years with the Negro Leagues' New York Cubans, before being drafted by the Cleveland Indians. In his MLB career, he was a 9x All-Star, 3x Gold Glove winner, and 3x AL stolen base leader. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2022. Billy Pierce (1927-2015) was a 7x All-Star and 1945 WS champion, and Roy Sievers (1926-2017) was a 5x All-Star and AL rookie of the year (1949).
