Newhouser (1921-1998) spent the majority of his 17-year MLB career with the Detroit Tigers. He was a 7x All-Star (1942-48), and the only pitcher to win back-to-back MVP Awards (1944, 1945). His two nicknames - "Hurricane Hal" and "Prince Hal" - captured different sides of personality, the former his explosive temper, and the latter his dignified manner. He was elected to the National Hall of Fame in 1992. Item #HNEW001
