Publisher's white cloth-backed blue paper-covered boards, with spine lettered in blue and red, and red endpapers; in its original white dust jacket designed by Richard Oriolo, with a photo of Kiner holding a microphone to front panel, lettered in blue and white. Fine book; about fine unclipped dust jacket, with a touch of wear to head of spine, and light soiling to front panel. Overall, a great copy. In Kiner's dedication in Kiner's Corner, he writes, "To my mother, Beatrice Kiner. She liked to call herself Cinderella, but it was I who attended the ball." And attend it he did - in his relatively short professional career (1946-1955), Kiner was selected to play in six All-Star games and earned a reputation as one of the game's greatest hitters. Off the field, he was known to frequent Hollywood circles, and even dated Elizabeth Taylor and Janet Leigh. After retiring early due to a back injury, Kiner spent more than 50 years as a Mets commentator. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1975. Item #RKJG001
