Publisher's red cloth, spine lettered in gilt, and yellow endpapers; in the original red pictorial dust jacket illustrated by Murray Olderman, lettered in white and black. Near fine book, with a touch of rubbing to spine gilt, very light spotting to front board, and boards very slightly splayed; about fine unclipped dust jacket, with light wear to spine ends, and light toning to bottom edges of panels. Overall, a clean and vibrant copy. Raging Bull, My Story is a memoir by middle-weight boxing champion Jake "The Raging Bull" La Motta, written with Joseph Carter and Peter Savage. La Motta describes his affinity for fighting from his early childhood, where, as an Italian American in the Bronx, he "was taught early that if you wanted to survive you had to be tougher than the next guy." The book charts La Motta's success through the 1940s-1950s, including his 1949 middleweight championship and intense rivalry with Sugar Ray Robinson, and his life after boxing. In 1980, Raging Bull was adapted into the all-time great Academy Award-winning film of the same name, directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci. Item #JLM002
