Seltzer, Isadore. Hard Cover. New York: The Composing Room, 1973. Fine.
Designed by Daniel Haberman. Illustrated by Isadore Seltzer. Special edition. Publisher's quarter black morocco and purple cloth, stamped to front board in gilt with author's facsimile signature, lettered in gilt to spine, green marbled endpapers; in the matching purple cloth slipcase. A fine copy, slipcase with a touch of fading to the opening. Based on the First Folio edition of 1623, this special edition of The Taming of the Shrew was published as the seventh volume in a series of annual Shakespearian keepsakes prepared for the friends of the publishers. A comedy, this play tells of the courtship the beautiful Bianca and the "taming" of her headstrong, ill-tempered older sister Katherina. Notably, The Taming of the Shrew served as the basis for the 1948 play Kiss Me, Kate and the 1999 film 10 Things I Hate About You.
