This volume contains the complete works of the playwright and poet William Shakespeare. Shakespeare's 36 plays include various comedies, histories, and tragedies. His earlier plays, aside from the oft-referenced tragedy Romeo and Juliet, were primarily histories, including King Henry VI (Parts I, II and III), Richard II and Henry V, as well as his portrayal of Roman political turmoil in Julius Caesar; and comedies, including The Merchant of Venice and Much Ado About Nothing. Later in his career, Shakespeare began writing darker comedies and tragedies, including the famous Macbeth and Antony and Cleopatra.
