Texas: Taylor Publishing Company, 1994. First Edition. Fine.
Foreword by Brooks Robinson. First edition, first printing. One of 1,500 copies, signed by Brooks Robinson, this being number 995. Inscribed twice by Patterson, "To Kenny - / Ted Patterson" on title page, and "To Kenny - / Merry Christmas and best wishes / always to a lifelong Orioles fan. / Enjoy this trip down memory lane!" on front free endpaper (verso). Publisher's black leather boards with raised titles in gilt to front board and spine, orange endpapers, book design by David Timmons. A bit of rippling to textblock, else fine book. A very attractive copy overall. The Baltimore Orioles is a 40-year celebration of the team, which came to Baltimore in 1954 and was renamed from the St. Louis Browns. The Orioles played at Memorial Stadium on 33rd street for four decades before moving to Oriole Park at Camden Yards in 1992. This copy is one of 1,5000 signed by the Hall of Fame third baseman Brooks Robinson, who also wrote the book's foreword. Robinson is arguably the greatest Oriole ever, playing all 23 of his MLB seasons with the team and earning a spot on the prestigious MLB All-Century Team. The book is written by Ted Patterson, a prolific sportswriter and sportscaster who, according to his son, attended every Orioles home Opening Day game from 1973 to 2016.
