Skeleton Crew was the third collection of stories released by the famed horror writer, Stephen King. Some notable stories in the collection are the acclaimed novella The Mist, about a group of residents in a small town who take cover in a grocery store from a thick and supernatural mist; the gross-out Survivor Type, in which a man trapped on a deserted island must resort to self-cannibalization to survive; and Gramma, a story about a boy who tends to his dying grandmother during a storm and suspects that she may be a witch. Also included in the collection are a few poems written by King, one of which, entitled "For Owen," is a touching piece about King and his son's walk to school. In a review of Skeleton Crew, American Gods author Neil Gaiman called the collection "500 pages of gorious goodies."
