Black and white pictorial postcard with a photo of Clemente in a Pirates uniform. Signed and inscribed by Clemente in blue ink on recto: "To Dave / Best wishes / Roberto Clemente". With the recipient's address handwritten by Clemente on verso. Encased in a PSA slab, graded Mint 9. About fine, with minimal edgewear, and a hint of spotting to verso. Overall, a boldly signed copy. Nicknamed "The Great One," Roberto Clemente was a legendary Puerto Rican baseball player who spent his entire 18-year career with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was a 15x All-Star, 2x World Series champion, NL MVP (1966), and 12x Gold Glove Award winner. Clemente was deeply involved in charity work and died tragically at the age of 38 while delivering aid to Nicaragua. He was posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1973, and honored with the Presidential Citizens Award by Richard Nixon in 1973 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George W. Bush in 2003.
