Overall, an extraordinarily bright, clean, and tight copy of this 100-year-old document. In the 1927 World Series, the New York Yankees and their legendary "Murderers' Row" swept the Pittsburgh Pirates in four games. The 1927 Yankees were arguably the greatest team in MLB history, featuring six future Hall of Fame players: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Waite Hoyt, Herb Pennock, Tony Lazzeri, and Earle Combs. That year, Babe Ruth was at the peak of his powers, hitting a record-breaking 60 home runs (that mark lasted until 1961, when another Yankees player, Roger Maris, hit 61 home runs). The 1927 Pittsburgh Pirates were an excellent team in their own right, with future Hall of Famers Paul and Lloyd Waner (the only brother duo in the Hall of Fame), Pie Traynor, Kiki Cuyler, and 20-year-old Joe Cronin in his rookie year. According to the partially filled out scorecards, this program was for Game 3 of the 1927 World Series, held at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees won the game 8-1, with Babe Ruth hitting a three-run home run in the 7th inning. Yankees ace Herb Pennock pitched a perfect game through the first 7 innings, ultimately allowing just three hits and no walks. Item #NYY006
