8" x 10" photo in a 12" x 15" frame. Signed by DiMaggio and Mantle in blue marker. Black and white photograph of DiMaggio and Mantle in Yankees uniforms, holding bats with backs to camera and heads turned, matted in white and framed in black. Fine. Overall, an attractive and desirable piece of baseball memorabilia. The two New York Yankees icons Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio only played together for a single season, 1951. In that year, Mantle's rookie season and DiMaggio's final, the team won the World Series against the New York Giants in six games, their third title in three years. Sadly, Mantle and DiMaggio never had a close relationship due to DiMaggio's resentment towards Mantle for replacing him in the spotlight. Recognized as the two best center fielders in Yankees history, both players spent their entire careers with the Yankees and won AL MVP honors three times. DiMaggio was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1955, and Mantle was inducted in 1974.
