Publisher's blue cloth-backed white paper-covered boards, titles in gilt to spine, blue and white pictorial endpapers; in its original red, white, and blue dust jacket with photo of Mantle at bat to front panel, photo of Mantle and Casey Stengel to rear panel, jacket designed by Randall Fleck. Autograph signing ticket from Big League Promotions in 1991 laid in. Fine book; fine unclipped dust jacket. Overall, a pristine copy. My Favorite Summer 1956 is Mickey Mantle's autobiographical reflection of the 1956 New York Yankees baseball season. Mantle won the triple crown (batting .353, 52 home runs and 130 RBIs) and the American League MVP and led the Yankees to a World Series championship over the Brooklyn Dodgers, which included assisting Don Larsen to pitch a perfect game 5. In this copy, Mantle signs his name with his jersey number 7. His number was retired on June 8, 1969 in front of a sold-out crowd at Yankee Stadium.
