Overall, a bright book, signed by over 60 players. The Image of Their Greatness tells the history of baseball from 1900 to the 1970s with the use of numerous black and white photographs. Chapters are broken up by decade and cover the essential players and events of each era. Lawrence Ritter, one of the two co-authors of the book, also wrote The Glory of Their Times, which is considered one of the greatest books written about baseball.
