Turley was a member of the iconic mid-50s New York Yankees team, which included such greats as Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, and Phil Rizzuto. Turley won two World Series with the team in 1956 and 1958, additionally winning the Cy Young Award and World Series MVP in the latter year. After retiring from the MLB, Turley became a successful businessman, co-founding the financial services company that would become Primerica, and investing in Florida real estate.
