First edition. Publisher's black cloth lettered in gilt and blue paper-covered boards with author's facsimile signature to front board; in original silver and blue unclipped dust jacket. A near fine copy with a touch of wear to extremities, spine gilt lightly worn; very good or better dust jacket with some creasing and wear to extremities as well as a few small closed tears, else very bright. This collection of Millay's last poems, most of which were written after 1939, was published posthumously after Millay died in 1950. Although Millay had begun compiling the collection before her death, the last additions and edits were completed by her sister, Norma, who addressed each new addition with a thoughtful foreword.
