First edition, first printing. Publisher's quarter black cloth with brown paper-covered boards, lettered in brown to spine, both boards with "95" stamped in black; in the original black, white, brown, and blue dust jacket designed by Janet Halverson. A near fine copy with bumped corners and foxing to top edge; in a very good or better dust jacket with some mild toning and wear to extremities, front board with a couple small abrasion to the front panel, two small closed tears at front and spine panel, spine ends lightly chipped, some dampstaining to the flaps. Overall, a tight copy that presents well. 95 Poems is the last collection of new poetry published before Cummings' death in 1962. Specifically, it includes many of the author's most well-known poems, including "i carry your heart with me," "l(a," "dive for dreams," "if the Lovestar grows most big," "i love you much(most beautiful darling)," and "rosetree, rosetree," among others. 95 Poems represents the reflections of a mature poet, as the poems discuss Cummings' meditative thoughts on life, nature, time, and love. Like much of Cummings' verse, many of the poems in this collection draw beauty from their simplicity without sacrificing the deep emotions they address. This first trade edition was preceded only by the signed limited edition of 300 copies.
