With JSA Basic Certification (COA). Publisher's yellow cloth, with front board and spine lettered in black; in its original red, black, yellow, and white dust jacket with a drawing of Shantz to front panel. Near fine book, with some spotting to upper edges of boards and top edge of text block, light offsetting to endpapers, and some toning to pages; very good unclipped dust jacket, with some rubbing to front panel, spine ends, and along rear spine fold. Overall, a clean signed copy. Standing just 5'6", Bobby Shantz was a left-handed pitcher who won the A.L. MVP in 1952, was awarded eight straight Gold Glove awards (1957-1964), and helped the Yankees win a World Series in 1958. Sixteen-time Gold Glove winner Jim Kaat said of Shantz, "He didn't win a Gold Glove until '57. Had they given them out starting in '50, he would have had 16 or 17 as well."
