Hard Cover. London: C. W. Daniel, Ltd., 1920. 1st Edition. Near Fine.
First edition. Publisher's orange boards, with blue paper title labels lettered in navy to the front board and spine; in the original light beige dust jacket, lettered in black, ruled in green. About fine, with minor wear to the spin ends, faint vertical crease to the spine, else bright and clean; unclipped dust jacket, with a hint of wear to the extremities, some faint toning to the spine, short split to the front hinge at the spine head, bright panels. Overall, a near fine and fresh copy. Roberts A14. Touch and Go is Lawrence's second play, published as the second installment of the Play's for a People's Theater series. Interestingly, it was supposed to be published as the series' debut play, and Lawrence passionately praises the new idea of "a people's theater" in his preface accordingly. However, Daniel published Douglas Goldring's The Fight for Freedom before Touch and Go, much to Lawrence's displeasure and embarrassment.
