Publisher's blue cloth, with front cover and spine lettered in white; in its original red, black, white, and yellow dust jacket, priced $2.50 on front flap. Very good book, with some spotting along front spine joint, and some toning to pages; very good unclipped dust jacket, with light toning to spine, edgewear, some chips to edges of front panel, and spotting to panels. Mack, also nicknamed the "Tall Tactician" and "Mr. Baseball," managed the Philadelphia Athletics for 50 years (1901-1950), leading the team to five World Series titles and nine AL pennants. He holds records for most managerial games won, lost, and total games managed by a substantial margin, and he is the longest-serving manager in MLB history. Prior to being a manager, he was a catcher in the league for 10 seasons.
