Hard Cover. London: Privately Printed for the Author, 1902. First Edition. Fine.
First edition, first printing. Original publisher's pink pictorial boards. An excellent copy with some mild foxing to the boards, else a fine and very fresh copy. The Tailor of Gloucester is Potter's second book, which tells the story of a tailor who is aided in a time of stress by a team of kindly mice who assist him by stealthily completing his sewing while he is away. Potter, who based the story on the experiences of a tailor named Mr. Prichard, considered this to be her favorite of her children's stories.
