Base Ball Stove League Record

Original Wraps. Indianapolis: J. L. MacDaniel Printing Co., 1925. First Edition. Fine.

First edition. Publisher's brown stapled wrappers printed in navy, "Stove League Tally Cards" advertisement to rear wrapper. Fine, with just a couple of light marks to front wrapper. Overall, a beautiful and clean copy. This booklet provides a recap of game scores and final standings for the 1925 baseball season. In addition to covering the National and American Leagues, it covers minor leagues, specifically the American Association, International League, Southern League, Western League, and Texas League. In 1925, the NL Pittsburgh Pirates overcame a 3-1 deficit to the defending champions, the AL Washington Senators, to win the World Series. Some of the year's highlights included Lefty Grove making his major league debut on April 14th, and Lou Gehrig hitting the first of his record 23 career grand slams on July 23rd.
