First edition, first issue with "lifed" for "lifted" on page 21, line 3. Original publisher's blind-stamped blue-green cloth, spine lettered in gilt. Engraved frontispiece and 6 plates. Bright gilt to spine, extremities lightly rubbed, final digit of imprint date rubbed, binding slightly cocked, small tear to inner margin of second endpaper (appears to be roughly bound), small chip to rear endpaper, some minor scattered foxing to text. Housed in a custom folding drop box.
