Freeman, Don [1968]: Fine.’I like you the way you are,’ she said, ‘but you’ll be more comfortable with your shoulder strap fastened.’ Original watercolor over blue proof, matted and framed, artwork measuring 200 x 178 mm. The classic children’s story of a teddy bear in search of his lost button, and one of the first to introduce an African American heroine. First published in 1968, Corduroy was an instant classic and is extremely scarce in first edition.
